WE ARE HERE TO HELP

YOU DESERVE TO FEEL SAFE.

If something feels wrong in your relationship — even if you can't quite name it yet — we’re here to help you. Take your time. You are safe here.

LET’S MAKE A PLAN TODAY.

IS THIS ABUSE?

Abuse DoesN’T Always Look the Way We Expect It To.

Many survivors spend months — even years — wondering if what they're experiencing is "bad enough" to call abuse. The truth is, abuse rarely starts with physical violence. It often begins quietly, in ways that are easy to explain away or second-guess.

If any of the following feel familiar, what you are experiencing may be abuse.

DOES YOUR PARTNER…

  • Control & Isolation

    • Tell you who you can and cannot spend time with?

    • Monitor your phone, email, or social media accounts?

    • Prevent you from seeing family or friends?

    • Control where you go, what you wear, or what you do?

  • Emotional & Verbal Abuse

    • Criticize, humiliate, or embarrass you — privately or in front of others?

    • Call you names, put you down, or make you feel worthless?

    • Blame you for their behavior or tell you that you "made them" act a certain way?

    • Make you feel like you are "too sensitive" or "crazy" when you express how you feel?

  • Financial Abuse

    • Control all of the money and give you little or no access to funds?

    • Prevent you from working or sabotage your job?

    • Make you ask permission to spend money on basic needs?

  • Threats & Intimidation

    • Threaten to hurt you, your children, your pets, or themselves?

    • Use looks, gestures, or actions to make you feel afraid?

    • Threaten to take your children away if you leave?

    • Destroy your belongings or property?

  • Physical Abuse

    • Hit, slap, push, kick, choke, or physically harm you in any way?

    • Use weapons or objects to threaten or hurt you?

  • Sexual Abuse

    • Force or pressure you into sexual activity you are not comfortable with?

    • Ignore your boundaries or treat your body as something they have a right to?

IF YOU ANSWERED YES…

If you answered yes to even one of these — what you are experiencing is not okay, and it is not your fault. Abuse is about power and control, not about what you did or didn't do. You are not alone, and help is available.

Your journey to freedom and safety can begin today. We are here to help you to escape abuse. We believe you are not meant to just survive, but to thrive.

READY TO REACH OUT?

You do not have control over your partner’s violence, but you do have a choice about how to get yourself and your children to safety.

Leaving is the most dangerous time for a survivor. A safety plan helps you prepare — physically, financially, and emotionally — so that when you are ready to go, you can do so as safely as possible.

A safety plan may include:

  • Identifying a trusted person who knows your situation

  • Keeping important documents accessible (ID, birth certificates, financial records)

  • Having a bag packed with essentials in case you need to leave quickly

  • Knowing which exits in your home are safest

  • Having a code word with a trusted friend or family member that signals you need help

  • Saving emergency numbers in your phone under a different name

We can help you develop a personalized safety plan — confidentially and at your own pace. Reach out anytime.
